hello friends,

I am very new to this online marketing and am planing to make a website but dont know where to start as some says website is best and some says blog is best.

What am thinking is make a static website as i know only static web site and then make a blog, is that a good way ? Example as below :-
something.com and something.com/blog or blog.something.com

So, if its good to start with main website with blog then subdomain or with a folder below the domain.

Am totally new so am saying something wrong then please forgive me

thanks everybody

with regards

ndjt

You could just use WordPress, which would give you static pages and a blog.

    correct.
if ur website has not many news to be update use static one with blog in subfolder or sub domain like blog.yourdomain.com (better then yourdomain.com/blog)

but if have news everyday, go with wordpress, that's better idea then static website

    Hi,

Go with Wordpress, it's very easy to learn and use and will give you a large amount of flexibility to grow in the future.

If you choose to go static, don't setup a subdomain unless you don't wish for your site to grow in authority.

I agree with others - I'd recommend using WordPress if you have any intention of doing a blog. There are a number of WordPress themes that will allow you to have a "specialized" front page and a link to your blog. WordPress is specifically structured to make this easy to do. If you are able to create a static HTML web page, you should have no trouble with WordPress. Presumably your concern is "SEO-ability" of your site - WordPress is decent for SEO and has several (free) plugins which can also help. All in One SEO pack is a popular one.

I'm a freelance web developer and I recommend (and build) WordPress sites for probably 60-70% of my clients.

I recommend WordPress all day. It's amazing how much you can do with it. I've seen mini-forums built off of WP, blogs, mini-social networks, etc. etc. It's magical.
