Hi Fellow Warriors,

Do you know a great logo when you see one?

If so, I would LOVE for you to critique my new logo concepts. I have six samples that I had created for me and am not sure which one to choose (or if I should scrap them all-together).

My market is Time-strapped Small and Medium Businesses who are actively seeking Local Internet Marketing Services that fit their limited budget.

They want more customers, more free time, and more results.

And need to believe that we are the best choice to serve up all three.

Please take a look at the sample concepts I had created below and tell me which you would choose, or if I should scrap them all and what you think I should go with instead.

Here's the link to the concepts if you don't mind a look: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4ipjfe0ezek4okm/54667.jpg

Thank you so much in advance and I can't wait to reply to your replies

Many thanks!

Anthony Smith

I'm not really much of a graphic design expert but here's my two cents

Concept 1: Too complicated, took me a few seconds to understand they were meeting at the top.

Concept 2: The thumb is a little cheesy for a boring technical niche.

Concept 3: This one I like, simple, professional and the ticks indicate 'trusted', 'been doing this a while now' and 'success'.

Concept 4: Too cartooned for a boring niche.

Concept 5: Easier to understand compared to concept 1. Still too complicated for a logo.

    Concept 6: Too 1995 - 2000.

    Hope this helps

Ok here is how I eliminate them,

    #1, 5:
    - The symbols/icons are too complex with those small people, not suitable for a logo. A logo should look nice and clear even at a smaller size.

    #4:
    - For a logo, most of the times you need to match the colors of the symbol with the text color. The concept is too basic.
+ Good layout for the text if you want to emphasize "CHOICE" more.

    #6:
    - I don't like logos with backgrounds unless it adds something to the logo concept. It just makes things complicated.
+ Basic but nice symbol, gives good first impression.

    #2:
    - Again the concept is too basic.

So the winner is #3. Maybe still not perfect but it's going at the right direction. You can try few variations on this one. Overall the text part is good in all concepts except #6.

You seems to be rely on pre-designed symbols.. need to edit them manually to get the right result.

I agree that the best is probably number 3; but I feel that 4 can be usable too. I don't mind the "cartoonish" feature as much; but that is just a personal opinion.

Okay everyone, I'm going to make some minor revisions based on your feedback. I'll be posting the revised logo concept based off of #3 here in this same thread for one last review.

If you stick with me, I'd love to give the person with the best feedback a free gift (and I aint' talkin' no cheesy e-book).

It's a real service from me to you. I don't know what to value it, but I really appreciate your feedback and I think you'll like the service I'm going to give you (but I won't let the cat out of the bag just yet - I want some really good feedback on the revised concept first, which I'll have posted here in a couple days - so subscribe to this thread to be notified when I do).

Only the best feedback will get this service from me (if they wish).

So far, the best feedback by far is from Nathan Joshua

    Thanks again Nathan!

tx.. I like it as well (blush)

mostly I use Arial Black and similar fonts for text, but in this case the graphic element had to be a part of text - therefore I chose this font..

@ishboo ... drop me a line and I will give you eps (I would hate to waste good logo)

My honest opinion: your getting there!

All your designs have an appealing professionalism and modern style them which is beautiful and excellent, you just haven't quite nailed this logo yet.

I like the concept of a tick or a thumbs up - your concepts are good - I think if you spend only a little more time on this you'll hit a logo which has the WOW factor.

Just my honest opinion, I hope it was helpful.

    Peace, One.

  • I would go with #3 as it is the smoothest and cleanest. It's easy to get caught up in the imagery of a logo. I look at large brands and they focus on a unique font and a very simple logo. That seems to work best. Look at facebook, twitter, Coca-Cola, Nike, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, eBay and so on. Memorable logos with not much going on.

Con # 1 & 5 Took me some time to understand the whole fact. They are not so suitable for logo.
    Con # 2 & 4 Looks ok. (2 is more ok)

I like #3, but I think that it would look even better in more of a clearer check mark shape. It looks like an open book, it needs to be more vertical in shape. This symbol does remind me more of "Choice."

The thumbs up reminds me of a cheesy facebook like thumb. I'm not sure how it relates to your company. It doesn't make sense to me other than if you're trying to convey good service with the thumbs up, which honestly, shouldn't be in your logo. The logo should identify you as a company and/or brand, not the kind of service you want people to think you give. A lame thumbs up next to your name doesn't automatically prove self worth and satisfaction imo, it's almost like a d-bag taking a picture of his abs in the mirror and posting it as his facebook profile pic.

Okay, I appreciate everyone's responses. But I have to say that Nonin came out as #1! Not only did he have the best insights, he produced the logo that I am going to be going with. If you're interested in his logo design (which is pretty damn good) he only charges around $20 for one like he did for me

Hire him before everyone else does!

Also, here is the link to a competition he is holding on his site -- It can be a little confusing, but not if you actually read it all out.

Competition « OutLived | UK Classifieds

So there you go. He's the winner of my service! What did he win? Well, I offered him page on ranking on the keyword of his choice. He decided for whatever reason that he really wanted me to tell people about his competition at the link above.

    So I did!

But if anyone is interested, I am getting page one rankings for keywords that get 3,600 searches per month and have 100 THOUSAND competing web pages. That wouldn't normally be a lot of web pages to compete with, except that the competition on every one of them is fierce. I'm talking realtors keywords.

Anyway, if you'd like to ever hire me out, I'd be happy to give you a quote. None of my services start for less than $500 per month when it comes to local businesses, but for warriors, I'd be willing to make a special deal.

I don't want this to turn into a warrior special offer being posted in the wrong thread and getting banned, so I am ending this thread now.

Thanks everyone for the amazing support and again, to Nonin, YOU DA MAN!

I would definitely go with number 3 out of all of them. It still needs a bit of work, the colors could stand out a little more, maybe condense the whole thing a bit, try changing the fonts. Another thing is the check marks are far too big for a website, also make sure that your logo will look good in both black&white and full color in case you end up using anything for print in the future. Good luck and hope to see some revisions.
