Best WordPress Theme Company?

Greetings All,

I would very much like to hear your opinions on which are the best WordPress themes. For me, they need to meet at least these criteria:

  1. There needs to be a fairly wide assortment of templates, all based on the same frameowork. I would like to learn how to use one framework.
  2. They need to have very professional design (at least a good number of them)
  3. They need to come with a layered Photoshop file so they are easily customizable
  4. They need to have a decent assortment of templates (page layouts) and widgets available (photo gallery, social media, seo etc.)
  5. Well supported and updated regularly to fix bugs and keep up with changes in WordPress
  6. They come from a company that's been around for a while and will be around for a while.
Right now, WooThemes and StudioPress are looking very good. Have you had any experience with other excellent templates?

All the Best,

Larry

  • You should take a look at the Genesis framework from Studiopress. Lots of options and child templates are available. There is also Thesis Framework from DIYThemes.

  • studiopress and themeforest are good one..
  • I personally prefer ThemeForest because there's so much more available there.

However, my favorite theme companies are RocketTheme, YooTheme, StudioPress..

The thing about ThemeForest, is that many of the makers there use the frameworks from these larger companies.. You can find plenty of themes on there using Genesis, Gantry, etc. frameworks.

BTW, my favorite framework is probably Gantry.
  • Genesis framework is a great one! Others generally are based on option, what you might like others might not... But Genesis framework is a great one to check into! Nice site as well, might want to add some ref images of the sites on your site, to keep the users from leaving your page as much... hope all is well!
  • have a check colorvila.com

  • i go with elegant and wootheme... they are amazing designer there...

  • I think citywpthemes.com this is best for all. This website provide for you reasons why choose the best wordpress themes for all category. Good luck!
  • I'm currently using Thesis on my site and everything seems ok but I would just like to say that, to a certain extent, to customise Thesis really well it helps to know atleast the basics of HTML & CSS, that's how I've managed to make my site look the way it does.

I'm not sure whether the other Themes mentioned in the above posts require this basic knowledge or not. It would be interesting to know this.
  • premiumpress(.)com it's good
  • you can try Colorlabsprojetc(.)com.

their themes are awesome and all of their themes are responsive !!!

Actually now they have a bundle promo for their themes. I think the price is pretty cheap

    • Thesis and Genesis Frameworks are as good as it is going to get for premium theme Frameworks for WordPress. I have developed with both Genesis and Thesis and my verdict is that Thesis is the Better Framework between the two.

Plus the Thesis Support Forum is Top Shelf and it literally takes minutes or possibly a couple of hours "tops" to get you questions answered even customization ones too. Where as with Genesis, bleh, you will some times have to wait 3 -4 days to get a simple question answered. That is if they do not Stone wall you and say that the question falls within the realm of customization beyond the scope of the forums.

Personally, I got real sick of that B.S in a real hurry. Wait three days to get a lousy response and that would be what I ended up with.

Genesis has gotten too big for their britches and the support has gone way down hill. As a point of interest Thesis is much faster by a long shot over Genesis as far as load times go even with the exact same plugins installed, The Genesis Site will definitely need a cache plugin where as the Thesis site absolutely will not! Yes there is that much difference!!!

    • What are people's opinions on Woo-themes?
I've been looking at some nice templates over there.

I already have Thesis, any good reccomendations for child themes?
  • try searching in google. try Colorlabsprojetc(.)com.
  • not a fan of studiopress.

moving my whole site network over to pagelines.

mostly happy so far -- but pagelines kind of stumbled with their 2.0 release.
