How do I remove page titles in Wordpress?

Hi guys,
this is probably a real easy one but I can't find easy-to-follow instructions on it...

I want to stop the names of my posts and pages showing up on the actual post or page...

e.g. if I have a Page Called "Useful Info" when I click on the link it brings me to that page and it has "Useful Info" in text on the page (similar with posts).

How do I stop this happening?

Any advice much appreciated!
Dave

    Depends on the theme but usually you go to the theme editor and edit page.php (could be named differently in some themes)
    Look for the line with the title in it and remove it.
    Before you do this download page.php to your local drive because if you make a mistake you will get an error message and your blog will stop functioning until you upload the old version.

        Dave,

        Edit the style.css and add this code.

        Code:
        .entry-title  { display: none; }
        Have a look and see if that's what you want.

    Check out Yoast SEO plugin. It lets you control every aspect of your website's SEO.. Including custom titles for types (page, post, archive, category, etc) as well as custom titles for specific pages.

    Yoast is the best and mandatory if you're using WordPress.

      Thanks,
      I will try this before doing any editing in the Editor - I installed it but can't see what I need to do to get rid of the auto page names? :confused:

    You don't need an SEO plugin - you have to use the editor. Sorry to tell you, but I doubt there's a plugin for it.

      okay that's cool! always okay to hear there's no easy fix! I have two problems now though.. as well as the other prob - I have this displaying on the right hand side: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/13/8475413/html/freepicturestock.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/header.php:3) in /home/content/13/8475413/html/freepicturestock.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

      any idea how to get rid of that?

      Everything else 9except the page names) is working fine...

        Google "Headers already sent buddypress". It's a problem w/ BP.

    I think this might be what you're looking for. Removing Page Titles In Thesis

    On a related note, I am not sure if this affects search engine perception of your site and ultimately SEO. Good luck!

    * I realize it says thesis but this applies to WP in general

  • Try adding this css code to your custom.css within your theme editor.

    .page .title {
    display: none;
    }

    I think its all in the editor..
    Check out the page php file depending on what template you are using..
    Locate the php code that calles the page title and delete it..
    You can also try using the css code display:none just like what others told you..

    I agree, I always use .home .entry-title{ display: none;} for the home page.
