Innovative way to track phone calls
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to track phone calls so it generates a goal conversion in Google analytics. I've seen somewhere one website had the last four digits of the phone number X'ed out like this 1234 56"XXXX". And then when you clicked the X's the remaining number revealed itself. Does anyone know of anything like this?
One idea I have is to create a "speak to us" button which navigates to a unique phone contact page, and then track that page as a goal conversion (will obviously have a degree of error).
Another idea is to simply hyperlink the XXXX in the above strategy. And link to a unique page. But that's about as creative as I get. Any ideas would be appreciated.
