What is the fastest way to copy a wordpress site?

I have set up a wordpress site that I would like to copy to other domains so I can change content and get the new site up quickly. Is there an easy tool to use to achieve this? Basically I need it to clone the site plugins and all. The only thing different would be the domain and all the links internally to reflect the new domain/directory...

    Hello,

To respond to you there is acutally no automated way to do this, what can be done though is the following.

    1. Backup Database and Restore on the other server
    2. Copy Public_html directory and paste in other server
    3. Change the Main URL
    4. You are done.

    Regards,

I think after that you may need changing Mysql username and passwords in configuration file.

Thanks for sharing but I know how to do this method. My VA does it all the time but I'm looking for something that is quick and easy like flipme or duplicator. Has anyone else used these tools?

Actually considering flipme. I have VA's that do it for me now. But would rather have a cloning tool or something to make it quick/easy...

Actually there is no short way to do this .Download the Backup Database and then upload those on the new server .
If you want only the contents I:E: all of your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms, navigation menus and custom post then go to Dashboard > Tools > export . Now select All content and download the file and upload the file on the new site .

The BackupBuddy plugin from iThemes does this. It will create a backup of your entire site (plugins and all) and includes a script that will import that site to a new server and domain.

I use it regularly to move client sites that I create on a test domain to the client's live domain once they're happy with the design.

The entire process takes about 12 - 12 minutes from start to finish.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

You can use backup buddy and there is some manual configs you have to change in the database but probably the fastest way but you have to buy the software. I can do the flip manually in about the same time frame as backup buddy but then again done it many many times We use SQL to mass change all the elements that need changing.

If you need to do this regular then it might be a smart move to learn it manually or buy Backupbuddy
