  • Here's a few ideas to get you rolling.

    1. Create a Transcript

By creating a transcript you can take all of the vocals out of the video and put them into actual words that the search engines can understand more clearly. This alone could get you tons of rankings.

    2. Use Good Titles and Keywords

Make sure that the title of your video and keywords related to your video (and in the description) are actually searched. Otherwise your video may never be seen.

    3. Optimization Isn't Everything

Just because your video is optimized doesn't mean it will be successful, you need to create videos that can be shared with a group of people easily and are actually entertaining and enjoyable.

Hope those tips help you out ueon
  • Keep the video's under 2 minutes if possible and list it with a video share service through a fiverr gig.

    • Personally that's not the best suggestion for video optimization (IMO). Just because it really depends on the video and the audience you are trying to get the video in front of.

I do believe that shorter videos can do a lot of justice and are easier, but there are different audiences in every market and sometimes they want more out of one video
  • thanks guys

another question i have is what are some cost effective ways to produce videos? video production companies charge couple hundred a min, and i doubt most SMBs are willing to spend that much on a video. i don't have exp in this field, so someone with exp is preferable.

    any ideas?

  • Hi,
I am a professional photographer and also have made some videos. Here are my tips:
    1. Best length 1.5min max 3min . i agree totally with Maui Mike on this. In fact short videos are more difficult. If you look some contests you will see that the 30sec movies have the biggest award in money.
    2. Keyword title, even if long , that is the ticket to be found in all the junk in Youtube
    3. Tags properly invented and filled. Spend some time here.
    4. Find aspiring talented videographers in your area, let them use your cameras or studio in exchange of they do the work for you. You help them build their portfolio, they do the heavy lifting.
    5. Do a contest with some award and you will find a lot of talented people. Post in in a relevant video forum clearly stating that you seek new talents, not companies

    What you should not do:
Believe that for a day or year can make a good photo or video by yourself. Even if you have the equipment.
Believe that with a less than 10000$ investment can do it. Yes, i can and many people can do it but that knowledge comes with time.

The best you can do is find a responsible talented person who has the knowledge but not all the material means. You buy the rest of the means, keep them yours, lend them to him for free use.Pay him, but not like you pay an established company.
Finally if you believe that video can be done from distance is another mistake. You should be near him when revising and compiling the final product. At least until he knows what exactly do you want for the future ones.
    Hope this helps.

  • Very useful information silyavski, thanks for sharing
  • Study videos with the highest number of views per month. Observe their keywords in title, video and description and how they have presented it to their audience. Follow their same principles for your video and I believe that is the best way of learning from the best
  • Good ideas here. I think it is important to first decide who your target audience will be and what are the best methods and technics for "them".

Sometimes it is better to make a video that looks like it was filmed with a smartphone. The big companies have been doing this for years. It looks unprofessional and gives the viewer the feel that it was filmed live when something very unusual happend. Example: In Germany there was a video of someone with tickets to the World Soccor Championships driving down the highway holding the tickets out the window. The ticket flew away and the person made a dumb face. It got so many clicks on YouTube that it was VIRAL in no time. After the campagne the company explained it was a marketing trick.

Keywords for your video are very important as well as formating, sound effects, music and post production. You should use Branding in your videos if you want people to remember who you are, a logo with effects will do fine. You should have an Intro and an Exit with your Logo. It is also effctive to have a short musical part to go with the Intro and Exit like a Jingle or sound effects. Do not use to many fonts if you have text and do not put to many lines on one page or the viewer will get lost reading.

If you do not need live footage you can always do screen capture with Camtasia, Snagit or some other software and do post production in the program it is easy with Camtasia.

I have been doing videos with 3D animation, talking animals, live with models and or actors/actresses, screen captures and some very crazy ideas for years. Use your imagination and be different if possible. Keep it short 1.5 to 3 minutes as already stated here. You do not want the viewer leaving or getting bored.

Just a few thoughts hope they help.

For a good video optimization make sure that your video clips are relevant and informative and tag your videos.
  • Virility is definitely one of the most important aspects of creating videos.

To have a video that's optimized or even a website that's optimized doesn't mean anything if you can't solve someones problem, whether that problem be humor, knowledge, or anything else.
