Need a plugin that limits user comments to like 1 per day or something?

Anything like that exist?

I want it to basically put a cookie on them that lets me know if they have posted and limit their ability to comment to 1 per day or 1 per hour whatever.

    There has to be something like that...

    BUT, why would you want that? the more comments means the larger your influence over your audience it?

      The site I'm working on would benefit from the site acting as a "referee" so to speak between users.

      I want to keep comments from becoming rambling manifestos or just back and forth petty chicken fights...I want to force people to have to wait...to think...to allow others to chime in between posts....and then after a cooling down period allow that first guy to make his point.

      I believe this would be a great dynamic for the site I'm working on...I think having to wait would build anticipation! Think how you were when you signed up for warrior forum...I know I couldn't WAIT to get approved and post...

      I'm also limiting the characters in the post to force focused discussion.

      Now, the user could comment on ANOTHER post on the blog...just not over and over on the same one until the time expired. See what I mean?
