I didn't get the memo about starting with one niche until after I started a blog called All-Purpose Guru. It was so all-purpose I had no idea what it's about, so now it's four blogs. I have tried to design a site to work as a portal to all my varied writings. Somehow, my site got broken, but I was already trying to figure out how to redesign it. Before I spend any more time on this, I would like both web designers and marketers comment on it.
Will this redesign work?

My target audience is people interested in non-specialist knowledge about a wide variety of topics--sort of the same audience Alltop and Mental Floss attracts, although my business model is different. In fact it's unique. No one else appears to be doing anything similar. (If you know of anyone, please supply a URL so I can study it.) I need lots of readers, but I need a significant number of them to follow affiliate links and buy stuff.
So here's the page: All-Purpose Guru It's password protected, and the password is Nussbaum. Please follow the music links to see what the concept is--I haven't done anything else. Those pages are also protected with the same password.
Of course, you can get to the present live version without a password. Even though I have done nothing to promote it for months now, I do have some visitors, and they are following links to my other blogs and looking at the items in the menu. So, believe it or not, the present broken, ugly site is doing what I intended in a very small way. I need it to be big.
