  • hi mate the site looks good. what exactly are you asking?
  • I like your page, it's simple and easy to follow. Are you asking for a review of your sales copy or just the page itself?

    • Hi benjigbird & learric,

      thanks for your replies!

The site is just a glorified questionnaire - I am asking people what they think of the idea within the video.

I have an idea for a wordpress theme editor which allows people to export their designs to be able to share them with others. I created a video walk-through in adobe after effects to give a bit of an idea of how the design part works.

I don't want to go too far down any development rout without first knowing if anyone is interested in the concept ;-)

I had a survey I was trying to get people to fill in on the other page of the site.

Is the idea of a drag & drop sharable theme creator (that works within wordpress as a plugin) something that may be of interest to you?

Thanks again - your time is much appreciated!

      Johnny
  • Hi there!
I think your website looks simple but at the same time, is really good..
I just love its simplicity plus its not messy to look at..
But I still think it would be better if you add more designs to it..

    • Thank you Keithotzkie for your time and insight - it is very much appreciated :-)

I'm afraid I didn't make my request very clear - what I really wanted was for you to watch the video and give me some feedback about my idea for the wordpress theme editor. I'm sorry to have not been clearer.

Thank you again for your time - Johnny
  • Johnny,

Oh my heavens yes, of course there is interest in having a WYSIWYG theme creation software. In fact I was looking for one last week, and came across Headway. Your software appears it will be a quantum leap beyond what Headway can do!

Headway lets users draw "blocks" and choose how each block will be used - header, widget, footer, nav bar, breadcrumb, post area...

It also includes a pop-up CSS editor (also can use php and HTML). I can barely spell CSS much less write anything in it, and to fine-tune Headway requires a bit of CSS knowledge.

On a plus note, Headway's forum is populated with coders who will answer questions, but I find sometimes myself having problems making their CSS solutions work.

Your software looks like it might help users avoid CSS. Yeah!

And your software looks like it would give much more freedom of design than does Headway.

    A few questions...

Can we create our own backgrounds?

Can we easily add our own graphics instead of using ones that come installed in the software?

Can we draw borders wherever we want, and make them whatever color we want?

Can we put drop shadows around areas of the blog?

Can we create gradients from one color to another in the software, or must we make those in Photoshop first, and drop them in as an image? Headway requires CSS to do this. Aaaarrrrgggghhh!

Can we put text blocks anywhere we want?

Can we make block any color we want?

    Can we easily add padding?

Here's a test blog I did in Headway, it took about an hour while learning the software... Just another WordPress site | My Blog

I will send my email to you in a PM.

I can only begin to imagine how easy your software would make designing be for anyone creating websites for local businesses.

    • Hi Don,

Thank you so much for your kind words of support and in depth way you have thought about everything!

      In answer to your questions:

Can we create our own backgrounds?
Yes, the backgrounds would allow for exact placing of elements or tiling of images or gradients.

Can we easily add our own graphics instead of using ones that come installed in the software?
The main idea if for users to be able to upload their own graphical elements and then be able to play around with the placement of them. So yes.

Can we draw borders wherever we want, and make them whatever color we want?
Interesting idea - you will be able to block areas and create borders around these elements. A bit like dragging a photoshop shape out and then defining a border around it.

Can we put drop shadows around areas of the blog?
That is something I would like to do - and be able to control the intensity and spread of the shadow.

Can we create gradients from one color to another in the software, or must we make those in Photoshop first, and drop them in as an image? Headway requires CSS to do this. Aaaarrrrgggghhh!
Yes you will. Here is a rather cool CSS colour dradient creator - Ultimate CSS Gradient Generator - ColorZilla.com
I'm afraid it generates code - but maybe Headway lets you cut and paste styles? I need to look at headway!

Can we put text blocks anywhere we want?
      Yes

Can we make block any color we want?
Not 100% sure of the question - but it sounds like something that shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps you could expand on this question?

      Can we easily add padding?
Yes - padding or margin - using graphical tools to manage the styles (so you can drag out the margin or padding). However not forgetting coders that like to type in exact values and also get straight to the code ;-)

Once again Don - thank you for your time and interest!

      My best - Johnny

    • Hi Fanaceous- thank you for your time! What is the link to your site? Sorry, I couldn't work out from your post how to locate it.

Also - I'm sorry but it was my wording, but I really wanted you to watch the video and let me know your thoughts on the Theme Designer I'm building.

      Thanks again though! ;-)

      My best - Johnny
