Remove Bluehost Favicon To Blank Favicon?

I have sites with Bluehost and if I do not put a favicon up it has their generic one. How can I do it so that it is just that blank outline of a square like you see some sites with?

Did you contact bluehost?

I have a couple hosting acounts with Bluehost and multiple websites in each. I just opened several of my sites, both in IE9 and in Firefox. There is not any favicon showing.

It might take a phone call, or a live chat if you are out of the US.

You may just need to look for the file in your file manager, it should be under the main directory for each website called favicon.ico
Just delete that file for each of your sites.

This will work for you however its good practice not to just delete it but replace it with a favicon of your own, you dont really want a browser trying to point to a file that doesnt exist... theres plenty of favicon generators on the net that will take a standard image and convert it into favicon format for you..

Tip: You'll probably find that even after youve updated the icon it still shows the old icon, this is because most icons are stored in your cache, try clearing your cache firstly and if this fails, force the icon to reset by navigating to the icon eg www.mydomain.com/favicon.ico and reload the image using ctrl + f5 (reload)
