WordPress hosting? + installing WordPress

Hi guys,

I wanted to start a blog in WordPress and I bought a domain name on their website. I chose the ".com" ($18) instead of the ".wordpress.com"

The problem is that I don't know if the hosting was included in the $18 I spent. I checked the settings and they didn't mention anything about hosting. When I type my site's name in the address bar, I can view my blog.

My other issue is about installing WordPress 3.4. There is no folder with "install" in it, I watched several videos on Youtube (older versions) but it didn't help me.

Could you guys also suggest me some e-books on wordpress (themes, put banner, plugins etc) ?

Sorry if those questions have already been asked before but I didn't find the answers yet. That's why I am posting it now because I've been looking for the answers since a week. (maybe I was not looking at the right place..)

    Looks to me like everything is already set up and ready to rock and roll at wordpress.com nothing to install pick one of their themes or upload one of yours.

    There are a ton of resources out there. You just have to find some that provide basic info and follow along. These might be useful to you:

    I hope this Youtube video will work for you WordPress is really is thing to install and setup on hosting... just google it ... You'll find it very much easy for you.

    When you are on your dashboard, there should be writing in little blue letters at the top, center that read "WordPress 3.4 is available" "Please update now". Unless it's already updated.

        I would like to first of all recmmend that you set up a signature with links leading to your blog so that it becomes easier to the forum members to visit your blog. You can read this post to get more information on how to do it "How To Create A Signature In The Warrior Forum"

    Easiest way is to switch to a host with cPanel (I use and recommend Hostgator). From the cPanel, just launch Fantastico and let it install Wordpress. Piece of cake.

        You cannot move to a new domain registrar within 60 days of registration. You still have full control of the domain. You just need to buy web hosting and point the name server details of the domain to your server. Not much of a casualty except for expensive domain for a year.

    You are using WordPress.com with a custom domain, which is offered as a PREMIUM FEATURE. It is more or less the same as a FREE WordPress blog, except the domain part. You have limited options to manage the blog as it is hosted and controlled by WordPress.com.

    If you need more control, you need to have your own Web Hosting (which costs $30 if you follow a simple trick on WebHostingRock.com). You will be able to install the latest version of WordPress and plug-ins on your self-hosted blog.

    Most registrar charge $10 for a full year (domain name only) hosting now days is dirt cheap, you can gte it for $1 a month go to hostgator
