    Personally I dont like pop ups. It is too in your face and I dont want to annoy my readers.

    There are some good plugin to display pop up in WordPress, such as Pop Up Domination, Premium List Magnet, and WPSubscribers. Just do a google search for the names I've mentioned.

    I am not 100% sure about this, but I think you should keep in mind that standard plugins and scripts are more easily blocked, by browsers and browser addons.

    Just to clarify, I don't think the OP is talking about popups in the traditional sense where a whole new window is opened.

    Instead, I think they mean an overlay that fades the site content fade to black and puts subscription form in the center of the page.

    These are really popular right now and can't be blocked by browsers. The most popular is PopUp Domination, available for WordPress and other platforms.

    PopUp Domination is probably the best plugin for it inside of Wordpress. For those that say it isn't a good idea, the fact is that it converts. It can be set up to not appear again after clicking the close button, so no harm no foul - you get an optin and can not show it to those who don't want it.

    Popups have some various response.
    Some people likes it and some are not.
    You have to make this sure about it that you are using actually which you wanted to use.
