Template Editing Problem

Hello,
I am new to Internet Marketing and web Design.
I currently have an operational web site which I made using a template.
The index page is the template and the secondary pages I made using Kompozer. Note!! The secondary pages look like crap!
That said, I recently downloaded a second template to use for secondary pages.
The problem is that either don't know how to save files correctly(user error) or these templates are meant to be used as the main web page only..I don't know and I don't have any web design experience.
I tried to copy the code into a blank document and only got the table and text format and not the color's that I really like(the background color was downloaded as an image).
So the question's are:
  1. Can I use multiple free templates for one site?
  2. How do I extract these files into my site folder without replacing the image and index file's?
  3. Is it possible to simply copy and past colors and code into a blank document?(I tried without any success)
  4. If so, how do I insert the background color image into the doc so that it apperars like the original template?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Feel free to look at the site and rip it apart!!

I am new to Internet Marketing and web Design.
Then decide what you want to learn: ONE is more than enough for a life time.
If you want to become a web guy, start here: W3Schools Online Web Tutorials

If you want to learn marketing - forget the web design and start reading the forum! (not this one but the main one about making money)

    fastbell,

What platform are you using? Wordpress? Or is this an html template?

Typically, you use one pre-built template per site...unless you have a platform (such as Joomla) that allows for assigning different templates to different sections.

If you can PM me, I'll help you sort this out.

(note : just looked and you are using free css templates - home page is 2 column - fixed width - )

I am new to the forum and not yet able to PM!!
      Thanks mlab!
I am using html. I downloaded the main template from freecsstemplates.org. I am editing in Kompozer and using Filezilla as my ftp client.
So your saying one template per site? I was trying to add some variety to my site. And of course I have a zero knowledge in regards to web anything. However, I am trying to learn as much as I am capable of while working on the sales aspect of the business!

Thanks for taking an interest in my post!
I look forward to any suggestions that you may have!
      Thanks
