Hi Guys, I have recently read that if you have your main keywords in your header then it will help with your ranking in google. Now i have a spry menu navigation bar that has quite a lot of my products in the drop down menus. this menu is based in the header. Will this help my google ranking or will it not make any difference due to the number of links within the spry menu??
Thanks in advance

Anthony

What is generally meant by putting keywords in the header is using the keywords meta tag. However, Google no longer uses that keyword meta tag.

That said, sounds like what you've done is you have used some of your keywords within the navigation on your site; that's fine - as long as those keywords make sense as navigation items. The point of designing a site is first and foremost for your site visitor - NOT the search engines. So your navigation and site layout needs to make sense and your site content needs to read normally - without over-stuffing it with keyword phrases - and needs to offer excellent value so users will naturally want to share your content and come back and read more of what you write.
