Job Site!

Hi,

I am looking to set up a simple job site along the lines of Gumtree etc but just for job listings and no other classifieds.

It will be pretty straightforward in that the advertiser signs up, finds there correct location, job category, writes there ad and presses submit!

I am just wondering what would be the best platform to do this on? Wordpress? Other? Anyone know of any good themes for this?

I would like to integrate with things like Google maps to show the advertiser location and also something that helps the advertiser easily add photo's/video etc if possible.

Any advice on where to start on a project like this???

Any help really appreciated.

    If you think this is a simple concept, then I suggest you think again.
    A couple of years ago I tried something similar and it is far more complex than it looks. I am not saying it can't be done but if you don't do it properly, it won't work and if you're not prepared to spend a LOT of time on it, it won't work either.

      Yeap pretty much. Also don't forget that the budget level is around the 3k - 5k mark for these sites. AND working with multiple coders especially.

    If you want to build that site using WordPress, maybe you can check JobRoller from appthemes dot com.

    That theme is not simple, I even think it is a fairly complex themes.
    But the features are awesome :

    • advertising support
    • FaceBook & Twitter integration
    • ets
    But I think Lawrencewins is Right, you have to make a good preparation to make that site

        Jobroller apptheme is one of the best I've found online. By best I mean not expensive and packed with tons of useful features. It comes with child themes and lots of extra features that'll allow you to customise it as required. If you have a savvy web designer, you'll certainly rub shoulders with bigger job boards that pay tons of money for a lot more costly software.

    You can do that by using joomla or wordpress or any thing like that. You just need to install some relevent plugin along your website.
