The Cajon

I just completed this site as a hobby site for my son who plays the cajon. I am interested more in content reviews and suggestions at this time as it is fairly plain as far as a WordPress site goes for now...

    Overall, the content is well written but the thing that struck me is that it is a little dull for a hobby site - try and make the content more fun and engaging for the reader!
    Perhaps an accompanying blog will give it a more personal touch? For example, get fun facts/stories/tips from cajon players...
    Also, try and appeal to the visitor's sense of humour or they might not stick around for long!
    In general though, a great effort and I look forward to seeing the tweaks once it's completed

    I agree with Elle. The layout is great and the content is well written and readable...but it seems a little dull. For a hobby site, I think you should liven the writing up and make it more "fun" for the reader.

    Work on your logo. Make it bigger. Give it a little something, like color. You an also search around for a background wallpaper. There's tons of freebies and you can search by color-code on google.

    If you do these 2, i think you might find yourself automatically seeing little things you can adjust in the rest of the layout. Its fine right now. Don't get me wrong. But it needs a little more life around the content.

    Maybe one or two banner ads on the sidebar (other than the t-shirts ads). A small "Featured video" box on the sidebar will also add a little color. And maybe even a twitter/FB feed there too will give it more life.

    Layout is good, simple and down to earth. I think rollovers wil help the navigation of the site.
    I think it's a very cute site and the basic look goes well with the subject matter.

    You've got a pretty good site, the best suggestion I could give you is to have a big link or button somewhere titled "What Is A Cajon?" so that people landing on the site cold have a place to go to clearly and immediately to figure out what the Cajon is and if I want to get one.

    This is a very nice designed site! I like the idea of the site and I personally would visit it to view various articles so that I didn't have to go to all of those other places. All in all, good work and I look forward to seeing it's growth.
