Help, I Need Some Design and Layout Idea For Message Inbox

Hello Gurus,


I am trying to create a page for a Message Inbox.

I am thinking of a table based layout for the Inbox, where the title or subject of the message is showing and the sender's name.

I am thinking that, clicking the message's subject or title will open the whole body of the message in a pop up window or modal.

But, this is just what I'm thinking right now.

So I welcome your ideas, in making a Message Inbox Layout.

    How should I post Images or Link to images, when my account is restricted from doing that?

    I don't know what's the point of restricting that feature to a newbie member, with a post count below 15.

      IF I had to guess I would say spam protection, It stops people or bots jumping in the forum and blasting links all over the place until you've built yourself a bit of a reputation.

      I personally wouldn't spend so much time on the smaller aspects of the site you are building, and spend more time deciding how you are going to make money from the site and direct your energy there.. some of the crappiest websites I know make a tonne of cash and others that are just perfect dont make much at all

    Hi Cosmicx,

    Your idea is good fancy effects, but what happen if the user have disable the javascript? I did made before a code for a forum i think it's ok to use tableless but if you like to use table that's will be your choice.

    interesting statement... can you share some of the crapiest website you know that makes tons of cash? some of the just perfect website that don't make money?

    you may give at least one for each...

    another question... about the crapiest website you know that makes tons of cash, how did you found out about their income? did you peak at their financial statements? or have you evaluated their website base on how it generates income?

    One more thing, your opinion is your opinion. I don't wanna cross that.

    But my opinion in writing this topic is this one...

    I am a newbie web designer, and I am learning and training by myself. No teachers/Instructor, just pure reading and research. And one way that I thought of, to train myself more... is to code whatever ideas you share here.

    So I will try bust it out, whatever design or layout ideas you post here. It's just like a PSD Design to xHTML/CSS thing.

    The client provides the Design, and I will mark it up.
