Working with meta tags in wordpress

Hi All,
I am very new to using wordpress so forgive my ignorance.I need to add a meta tag to my wordpress site.

"adding a fb:admins or fb:app_id meta tag to your root webpage" this is what I am required to do...

This is a wordpress site that has been loaded via Blue Host simple scripts on cpanel.

How and where do I go to change or add meta tags on a wordpress site ???

  • In the wordpress admin console you can edit the template if you don't have FTP access.

      You have to edit the template of wordpress because i think you are not unable to access FTP. Must use this rule, it will definitely help you.
  • You can use meta tags plugin for your purpose. You can choose one of meta tags plugin that match with your requirement.
  • You can use Meta tag manager plugin for this purpose.

    WordPress › Meta Tag Manager « WordPress Plugins

    Or alternatively go to the WordPress Admin Panel

    Go to Theme editor and choose Header.php file.

    There you can add meta tags manually.
  • You have 2 options:
    1) Install a meta tag plugin like Meta Tag Manager or even All In One SEO Pack
    2) Edit your header.php:
    a) by using your web hosting cPanel. Go to File Manager, search your website wordpress folder and edit header.php
    b) by using FTP. Download header.php, edit the file and then upload the file again on the server
