How long to transfer this CONTENT to Wordpress?

WEB DESIGN

My designer has designed and coded the landing and inner pages for a new site for an accountant.

I'm wondering how long it should take my VA/programmer to create the relevant pages in WP and add the content from Carrigan & Co Chartered Accountants - Carlow & Kilkenny Accountant, Ireland to then new WP site.

It's already installed on the server, theme is in place and sample pages are created. I'm only looking for the time to transfer the content. The VA is saying that particular pages on the existing site will take far longer than normal (everything under Tax summary - Carrigan & Co Chartered Accountants - Carlow & Kilkenny, Ireland)

What do y'all think?

  Really?!! If you check, there are about 40 pages. Do you have some automated way of doing it?

noway, it can't be done in an hour. Even doing the copy paste for 40 pages will take atleast a day. After doing the copy paste the programmer has to make sure that the content on the wordpress site looks like the original site. So he'll have to write some new CSS rule to accommodate this. You'll have to consider the all this when copying over the contents.

Okay, I am pretty much agreed with rajeevrla. This is not only an issue about copying and pasting the contents into your new WordPress website. Your existing website have 36 URLs (2 Broken). The content first needs to transfer to WordPress and then the hardest part comes. I believe the look and feel of WP site needs to be same as existing website correct? your website have different page layouts (two sidebar, one sidebar, no sidebar, table formats, paragraph columns etc). So the actual time spends in design, layout and tweaking issues. Is your WordPress theme already been created which have the similar look of existing website? if not you must not count theme development time with content transfer. I hope this information is helpful to you. Also a further information about the present condition of WordPress project might help to guess the time-frame required. Thank you.

exactly, tarif has explained it very well for you and for others who think that copying the content to wordpress is one hour job.

It's usual. If you answer the following question, I might guess the time-frame that your "VA/programmer" needs to complete the task.

* are you planning to transfer content to a default WordPress theme?
* If not then is your WordPress theme already been developed based on your existing theme look/appearance?
* Is your "VA/programmer" is involved theme development part too?
* What is the exact task-list you have assigned to your "VA/programmer"?

The answers of questions will clear many confusions and will help to predict more accurate estimation.

You need one day to transfer and arrange that content.Anyway, this is just an approximation and maybe your VA will need less or more hours depending on different isssues that may arise so if you want to be sure he will finish everything in time then you can give him 2 days to transfer the content.
This depends very much on how your new template looks and many times you'll see that some changes in the code will be required.
