alexa ranking..

hello friends..
recently my website alexa rank was 1000,300..
than even after getting backlink by sites with pr 5and 4..
the change in alexa rank was just to 999,696 from 1000,300
while befor when i get a backline from site with pr 5..
the change occured was very large.......?
please suggest why the my alexa didnt change..?

  • Based on my experience, alexa ranking has their own algorithm that doesn't get you higher ranking based on PR. Pretty much it was based on traffics.

    earlier my ranker change from 53k to 25 k just with a backlink of site with pr 7..!!
    and its not working now..
    what should i do please suggest
  • you should get more backlinks but also you should increase your traffic which is more important for alexa ranking

    • They seem to base it mainly on traffic. Their backlinks update very irregularly and are a pretty inaccurate reflection on reality.
    • alexa rank is based on data collected in 3 months from users of Alexa toolbar. Ranking is given by comparing site's current ranking with its 3 month ago ranking. It gives estimated rank to sites generating low traffic figures as most of data is based on its toolbar, which is compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer only..

  • Generally I just see them judging traffic, not taking into account what your PR is from Google.

  • Yes a lot with Alexa depends on Traffic and Backlinks. Plus Alexa backlinks take a little longer than Google backlinks. After the Google updates i was dropping between 1million and 500,000 for the first couple of days. After about a week i was falling by anything from 10,000-100,000 for a couple of weeks. Currently i seem to find i drop about 1-2,000 per day depending on how many articles i publish and how many social networks i publish to.
