Help with making website mobile compatible

Hello,

I need help regarding making a site compatible for mobile devices. I have a site currently that is already built in Wordpress. Just wondering if there is a reliable, and not too expensive way to make it look similar on the iPhone, iPad, etc. Just wondering if there are plugins that can help with this, or do you essentially have to build a completely separate version?

Many thanks for your help!

Jeannie

Thanks, but unfortunately the site is already built - I need to find a way to make the current site mobile-compatible. Hoping to not have to rebuild the whole thing again.

The boat has kinda sailed on a mobile theme that looks the same as your current theme.

As for other mobile options, WPTouch is great and allows you to add advertisements. I have also just switched one of my sites over to Onswipe. There is no monetization options but it looks fantastic and lowers the bounce rate considerably.

Both are free (WPTouch has a Pro option).

Trying out different templates for mobile compatible sites is a good idea. Simply ensure that the mobile site you come up with is easy to use and is compatible with most of the mobile phones.

bMobilized is a pretty great tool - it takes your website's URL and automatically mobilizes it. Mobify is nice too - it syncs any changes you make in your website.

For future reference, though, it would be best to use a website builder like EXAI that automatically creates a mobile website as well and then any changes that you make on your website are instantly updated on your mobile site, which results in much less hassle for you.

You can opt for responsive design template to make your website mobile compatible.

Also go for WPtouch that can automatically transforms your WordPress website for mobile devices, filled with ajax loading articles and fine effects when observed from latest mobile web surfing devices like the Android mobile phones, BlackBerry OS6+ mobile devices, iPod touch etc.
