Bandwidth saving and image optimization !

Hi I need suggestions. I run a website MyOpenTheatre.com - Watch movies online free. Please visit once to understand my site structure. But for just 1k visitors its consuming 1 GB very easily.
For thumbnails I have used GIF format with each size ranging frm 12 - 25 KB. But only now I learn that G is better option considering size. Should I switch over to if yes how ? I mean what software to use and I am using wordpress, how can I chane the filename for every custom "thumbnail" url ? Please help !
I am a newbie and have no idea abt website optimization ! Within few days I may run out of bandwidth !

  • I don't understand your English. What "G" are you talking about?

    Each visitor is using about 1 MB of bandwidth. Could it be all of the graphics everywhere?
