Need help first website

GoDaddys domain service includes a free hosting account, this is why you're seeing advertisements on your site. The only way to eliminate them is to purchase real hosting, either from GoDaddy or (preferably) from another host - many people here use HostGator and host a large number of domains on a single account. I use them myself,and have many of my domains at GoDaddy pointed to them.

A for templates, I strongly suggest that you learn to use WordPress and use it to build all of your sites instead of using static HTML templates. There are thousands of free "themes" (same thing as templates) available for WordPress as well as numerous "plugins" that instantly give your site functionality that you would spend days coding on a static template.

A host like HostGator has a "CPanel" with "Fantastico" that lets you install WordPress with 3 mouse clicks. You can literally have a site up and running in a few minutes and you can completely change ts appearance (Theme) in seconds. Updating it s also a lot easier than a static template.
