Ask your client if they want a logo. Logo always brings out the website. Other than that, the website looks solid.
  • Why not ad a Google map to the contact page so that customers interested in visiting can easily get directions? Very easy to do and look great.
  • If you use flash to display the furniture picture in the top then its will be great. Another things that when click on the picture just show the image if you create page about describe the furniture then its will be nice to see. Otherwise your site is really good design.
  • I like the design, but i think it will be better once you add a logo to the header.
  • Thans a lot for reviewing , I will talk to my client if they want a logo. Pls suggest a pluging for integreat google map.

    Thanks
  • I think it looks good, I agree with everyone who said that it needs some type of logo. I would say at a bare minimum a close up shot of their main store sign.

I clicked on the "Products" section, I saw the child drop down menu, but if you just click on "Products" it comes up with a page that lists 16 different product categories. I'm a bit confused why you do not have a page for all of these categories along with this list being linked to those pages.
  • I'd make the grid of images on the home page into links to the various sections. Someone arriving at your home page will see these images first and expect to be able to click on them to see your product ranges. Same goes for the list of categories above these pictures.

Your home page should really be an entrance to the rest of your site. Make it as easy as possible to get to your sales pages and think to yourself "What is the person going to click on", then make sure those things do something active.
  • You need Great Logo on it...

    • Added a text logo as my client dont want a graphic logo.

  • At first change the logo & add a photo slide show!
  • I have written an article on website design that sells, you might want to have a read at it.

    Change the header color ,
it hits the eyes ,and less tolerable ,
    actually not corporate looking.
This is only my opinion ,but everything depend on you.

    • I have tested it on IE and mozila and working perfectly ok. Pls tell me what browser you are using.
I have uploaded a text logo now and changed the header color from black to blue , pls review it now.

Thanks a lot for your inputs

  • Yes I am working on it as my client want to add some more products and as far as design is concerned it is completed from my end ,although I am not completely satisfied thats why I need suggestions to mprove it further.

  • For me the pictures on the homepage either need to be made no clickable, or open in a thickbox style window.

I think that the design needs an accent colour. i.e a 3rd colour to work with the blue and grey.

For me there are too many different front styles/types going on. e.g serif headers, sans-serif body, bold, bold italics etc..

The maths anti-spam on the contact page looks unprofessional for business use.

    • It will be better if you will add some more relevant photos in your website. Also add a good logo in your website.
  • Overall the website is decent looking. But I would suggest you to use thin borders in the images. They look heavy now.

    • I would say it's "OK". Not great, not terrible either though.

The design is basic, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You can get by with basic as long as it's functional.

What is your USP (Unique Selling Proposal)? What set's you (or your client) apart from other furniture stores? Is it free shipping, a guarantee, zero percent interest? Whatever it is, it should be conveyed right off the bat in your first paragraph.

I would also add a contact form above the fold and definitely add the phone number right at the top in the header.

And definitely remove the links from the images on the homepage. Unless you're going to link them to other pages, why are they links?

I would also fix your Meta Description to be a little more descriptive than "Manufacturer and Supplier of All Types of Furnitures". I know I'm being nit-picky, but you should have some keywords in there.

Overall, good job. With a few tweaks you may have an effective site that converts.

  • Honestly... I feel like I am back in the 1996 with a website like this.

    1. Add a logo
    2. Remove the "Product category" from the bottom of the page. You want it clear for the user.
    3. Place your "Special Offer" in a box for better visualization
    4. Remove the map from the main page and place it in your "contact us" page
  • Its a very good site and loading fast for me , i like the way you have arranged the contents and color combination is pretty good according to me I would say its a professional work

  • Thanks a lot warriors , your inputs definately going to help me to look further and more improvement. But my client is just happy and he don't want to change anything. Although I understand that there is a room for improvement but ultimately 'Customer is the king'. I have suggested him few changes but he is more than happy with current design.

    Thanks a lot again
  • I would definitely add a logo to the header. I would also agree about adding a slider of photos. I think you could make more of the special offer - Make the 15% discount more visible and eye catching. Is there any information you can add about prices? Nice photos.
  • It sure needs a logo and maybe a jQuery slider over there for the pictures
  • Hey Man,
I would definitely add a JQuery slider to the top that will support a text message or add text in Photoshop that can deliver some sort of sales message or tagline. The site is clean, however you could add a band of color, maybe even with a texture below the main images that you could use for customer testimonials that would look nice.

When I design websites, I always try to think how I can add depth to the design without making it too heavy in file size.

Lastly as someone else pointed out, you some sort of lightbox. Look up "Jack Moore, colorbox" in google. I use that one quite a bit and it's very nice and pretty easy to implement. If you have trouble, I'm sure you could find a YouTube tutorial on how to add to your site.

    Good luck!
  • design good but content add more content on home page and used H1 tags on images

  • The Image links should develop into a number of images and each image lead to a full detail set along with text description stock levels delivery etc.
  • As stated above, I would thin down the image borders, and redirect to detailed product information when clicked.
  • the way I see it, its a wordpress right? so more modifications without doing a lot of works is easy. as I am also a web designer, this what I would do :
    - Enchance the title. Use different font and style. Logo is not necessary, unless your client wants it. because with the right font and style, a title without logo can look great too. ofcourse, i said this because I charge different price for logo hehe
    - The theme is using 2 different menus (top and bottom), thats very good. very useful for pages.
    - I suggest using a certain light box plugin for the image list, if not just use nextgen gallery.
    - a Slider plugin would be nice too, for featured products etc
for the plugins, only use them if the theme is not supporting it.
I cant say more about the design, because it depends on how much the client pays you . but it is clean and fast loading design.

Didnt mean to sound like a smart"donkey" here, dont get mad okay man...cheers

    • Yes it is wordpress site .
My client dont want a image slider because he think it will distract his visitors. For me it is very easy to add a image slider but if client is not agree what can I do.

There is no point to got mad as I put this website here for suggestions.I know there is a lot of room for improvement and I will use these inputs in my next project.

      Cheers

P.S. Can you suggest me a plugin for website which is very lite as I want my websites loading fast..

  • I agree you need a logo, id also ad fancybox or another overlay effect to the images in the front page gallery for they are not taken to a blank white page when they click to enlarge.
  • Images should not go to image url by it self. Grab yourself a lightbox plugin to just pop them up in a lightbox. Linking directly to the image make the site look cheap (not being offensive)

    Everything else is okay.
