Best Wordpress Themes company??

I am trying to find a wordpress theme that I can use to develop a website as a book author to present my books (I might want to be able to sell directly from the site in the future; but not needed just yet).

I have checked out Themeforest, woothemes, and elegant themes, but not liking either pricing or available themes. Does anyone know of a theme or theme company that might fit what I am looking for?

Thanks

I think themeforest is the cheapest. But if you want real premium I would go with thesis theme or even genesis theme. Or go with a free theme, if your on a budget. Later you can change it up.

I'm looking into thesis and Studiopress genesis framework myself (which is what led me to this thread! :-) - Not sure which I'll go with just yet but well worth checking out if you want more than just a theme. Both seem to be very flexible, powerful and easy to use.

If you are looking for just nice looking themes check out BlogohBlog.com - Great guy and lots of free & low cost themes.

Well, ThemeForest probably has the biggest offer, and they're good with quality as well.
Also, ElegantThemes offer great design, and i think they have a promotion, so you can bulk buy all themes for a reasonable price.

Wothemes is also good, and this three websites are basically the biggest players in the Wordpress Themes market.

I would say, that Theme Forest is the cheapest solution. You can buy a premium wordpress theme there for as little as $3 or $4. I also like Eleganthemes, although they offer a sign up fee, you will get access to all of their themes and they are very nice designed. When you do the math one theme there will cost you only ~$0.5.

Check WordPress › Free WordPress Themes

If you cannot find a theme of your linking on any of the popular theme marketplaces or free repositories, you might be out of luck.

I don't think pricing of premium themes should be an issue as you get these of a small fraction of the actual cost in creating these. A custom theme can cost you hundreds of dollars.

Yes mate, I believe too. I've been using Studiopress for six months and affiliate with them also. But I've never seen free Genesis or a child theme. I was surprised with the Manoj's reply. That's why I asked to make sure.

To keep this thread on topic I'm quite happy with Studiopress.

Studiopress does not offer free theme. Their themes are child themes which require Genesis Framework. I have used a lot of themes from several vendors, as well as frameworks. Genesis is my favorite.

    1) Premium WordPress Themes by StudioPress
    2) DIYthemes — Run a Killer Website with the Thesis WordPress Theme

Sometime we can’t find the right theme as there are several themes which is confusing. It is advisable to work as per our requirements regarding the project and other themes will assist in selecting the right option from the numerous option. ThemeForest, Genises and Thesis are all good for Themes. By revisiting these sites can obtain the right theme as per your need and in an affordable budget.

I would suggest use SimplePress or PersonalPress from Elelgantthemes. Why do you not like Elelgantthemes price? $39 for 77 themes is a very good price.

Anyway, if you want a free theme take a look at http://www.shaadiconnections.com/download It is a HTML5 Responsive theme.

    Hello Lloyd,

Since it seems you already know what you're looking for (or what you are NOT looking for) I would recommend going with a theme that you can change the design yourself instead of using a complete ready made theme.

You have a few different options for this that allow you to change size, colors, backgrounds, headers, layout, fonts, come with special widgets and many other functions.

    Canvas by WooThemes
    Prose by StudioPress

You can also use Headway Themes which will allow you to "paint" your site however you want it.

You can watch a (weird) demo site I did for a client not too long ago here.

And just to not let Thesis out of the question, you can also use this but it comes with a HUGE learning curve and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that is just getting started with WP themes.

You say you write books and would like to use this theme for offering your books at some point, well the e-commerce part can always be added later and I think you should just pick a theme and roll with it.

Sometimes there's always some little thing you're not going to love about your theme but if you keep waiting for the perfect theme, you may never find it and paying for custom made wp themes can go up to thousands of dollars (depending on the project and the experience of the coder of course).

So good luck my friend and if there's anything else you need, just ask!

    Sergio

PS. I own every single theme I mentioned here and then some more including many from ThemeForest -great themes and affordable too- and Elegant Themes -yuck- but my grandma once taught me, if you can't say anything good, then don't say it at all.

Aside from Headway and Thesis, you can also have greater control on changing the appearance of your site using the Catalyst Theme.

Well, thesis requires a little coding just like on changing the location of your navigation bar whether you want it on top or below of your header. But if you are prepared for the learning curve, go for it.

I like the latest Headway that uses grids however I have mastered the previous version.

I created these sites using headway:

    The Supercharged Agency
    Texas Roofing Now
    Automatic Agency Force Builder

You might want to check iThemes as well.

    Cheers,
