Hi.

I've been asked to do a banner with changing images, like the "Love To Run" example on this page.

If anyone knows how to do that, any help would be great.

Thanks.

The most common way to do this is with what's called an "animated gif". Its a single graphic image composed of multiple files that is preset to run at a speed and duration with or without looping.

The first thing you need is a software program that allows you to create and edit animated gifs. Once you have that, you can open up an existing graphic that you like in order to see how it works, then create your own.

Great, thanks for steering me in the right direction. I'll have a crack at it and see how I go as I'd like to add this to my skillset.

If you have photoshop or fireworks, they both have the ability to do this.

Just google "how to animate a graphic in photoshop"

If you get stuck it wouldn't be hard to find someone to do it for you for a fair price. If you do get stuck, PM me and I can help you out for a cheap price.

It might be worth your time and money to simply hire someone here or elsewhere to build an animated gif for you if you have not done it before.

These days most people use something called a 'jquery slider' similar to this ...basic-bank-account.co.uk
There's lots of tutorials around and you can even use a template. They look a lot more professional than a animated gif.

If you still wanted to make this, you can easily do a search for "photoshop animated image tutorials". It will point you in the right direction on how to make those using adobe photoshop.

    Cheers

If it's for a header, many WordPress themes come with an image rotator built in.
      I use Atahualpa for these.
If it's elsewhere many of them also have slide viewers built in that you can call.

Yeah, as said, it's a .gif and can be done in pretty much every image editing Software.
