upload mess

Probably the wrong forum section but I need a bit of help. Am attempting to get a site onto hostgator...I have baby croc with about 6 other sites and this is the first time problem.

I establish sql database through cpanel. Edit the config files with the db info.

when I load and attempt to access site I get sql connect errors...not valid link.

All the images/text/have uploaded into the file but there is nothing in db tables. How do I connect the db with the folder containing site? Probably not very well explained but any help appreciated.

  • Hi Gordon,

    Does the site already exists and you are trying to upload it to a new location or new hosting? If so the sql file already exists and you need to go into phpmyadmin section of your cpanel and import the sql file into the right dbase so that it populates the tables.

    • still having a problem....attempt to do it through admin and keep getting a syntax error...I know the site is valid as it was up for over a month with previous owner.

      now looking for someone who will help for a small fee, i.e. I will send you file and you upload to my server for me?
