What does this mean: "font-family:'Droid Sans',Arial,Verdana,sans-serif"?

Hi,

The one thing I don't understand with fonts and CSS is that:

font-family:'Droid Sans',Arial,Verdana,sans-serif

Why are there 4 fonts listed when I only would like to use one? And why does the droid sans have ' ' around it?

Thanks!

J

    Hi,

Your visitors don't necessarily have the 1st one you list. If they do have it it'll be used, if not it'll default to the second one, if this one isn't available then the 3rd one etc.

    Seb.

Do you use Facebook ? Then you can make money just by inviting people to a Facebook group ! It's called the Instant Income System. How cool is that?

And to answer your 2nd question... quotes are needed around a font name anytime that the name is longer than 1 word. For font names that are just one word, no quotes necessary.
