This is normal. Images are found at a location just as a web page is. For example an “about us” page may be found at www[dot]example[dot]com/about-us.html and an image on that page would be found at www[dot]example[dot]come/about-us/image.html. This is true for any image on any website.

Google and other search engines also index images in this manner (by indexing the image path).

Right click on any image on your WP site, click on view image info and you will see its URL. Paste it into Google Images and you will likely find it indexed,

One more thing. If you do not want your images appearing in search, you can exclude them in your robots.txt file. This would only apply to future images.

Hi, these aren't coming up in the image results, they are coming up as actual pages in the normal search results?
