Hello;
I'm planning to start niche blogging with wordpress and I want to know what's the best for SEO;
1. Wordpress MultiUser(Wordpress Mu).
EG:
niche1.mysite.com
niche2.mysite.com
niche3.mysite.com
OR
2. Using Wordpress in seperate domains
EG: niche1blog.com
niche2blog.com

Tell me what's your humble opinion.Thanks a lot.

    I would go for single blogs as I believe one should not put all his eggs in same basket. Also you can target different keywords on different domains without having the interference of the main domain

    single blogs are the way to go. Wordpress Mu does not have the same functionally as a single blog. I tried MU, don't like it. Single blogs give you a whole lot more freedom, so don't waste your time.

    You can point domains to Wordpress MU. So, on the server, you're set up like domain.com/blog1 but you can point domain2.com to that folder and people will see it like a separate website.

    From a MAINTENANCE standpoint, Wordpress MU is the way to go.

    I've got 15 or so WP blogs, and I'm constantly updating the core code and plugins. It's a pain in the butt. Luckily with the auto-updates, it's easier than back in the day, but it still sucks.

    Definitely separate domains if you wish envision any one of the niche blogs to grow mainstream.

    If you are going to maintain several niche blogs on a single domain with Wordpress MU though, make sure you buy a generic domain which is quite suitable or is neutral with most of your niche blogs, otherwise grandmaknitting(dot)technobloggy(dot)com would be weird.

    Last option is to try what ehicks727 suggested, I would try it myself one day. I am sure 15 separate WP blogs would be a pain in the butt, I have 3-4 and already maintaining them is not a pleasant experience.

    I say have 4 sub domains on 1 main domain..

    You have your main niche blog at , i.e. acaialltheway.info
    And your 4 subs in related niches berry.acaialltheway.info , diet.acaialltheway.info, etc..

    Just create a folder called 'plugins' on your computer and put all the plugins that you use in there, so that when you're uploading , all you have to do is drag over the entire 'plugins' folder under 'wp-content'. Quick and easy.

    Hope this helps
