Yeah, It's all fudged up. Is there any going back?

I recently just updated my WordPress to 3.4.2 and changed my theme from the plain Twently Eleven theme to the Reaction Skeleton theme.
http://reaction.mdnw.net/

Eventhough I changed theme, my site is still formated the same as it was as the Twenty Eleven theme.

How do I go about getting my format to look like the reaction theme. I hope I don't have to delete everything and start over.

I wonder if it's because I did not use a child theme with the Twenty Eleven and manually editted the orginal files. If thet's the reason do any of you know how to go about getting to that new themes format without loosing my pages and blog?

Im wondering if I should just get a new domain and hosting and start fresh and just transfer all content and stuff over to the new theme under a new domain. Then forward my old domain to the new one.

I just don't want all of my SEO to go to loss.

How do you guys recommend going about this?

I have had good advice from the Wordpress Support Forum in the past - I´ve had issues before and they have all been sorted out one way or another, generally they talk you through steps in newbie style if necessary - Sounds like you have some experience so you should be able to resolve it with their instruction.

I don´t think you need to go to the extreme measures of changing domain etc, I think you should post similar message at the Wordpress Support Forum.

I´m not really sure why you think changing hosting and domain will help? Perhaps i´m missing something.

Yeah, I tried the forum. No success thus far. My post I did yesterday just ended up gettin buried up under all of the the newer posts that happened 5 minutes later.

This is something I eed to find out fast because my old theme got messed up and this is a site I use to make quite a handful of income online.

I was thinking to switch hosting and domain because I think I messed up the original Twenty eleven theme files because I would customize them without a child theme. Now every theme I convert too is still in the twenty eleven theme format.

I don't want to loose my pages and blog posts. If I switch to the Reaction theme. Everything still looks just about the same as the twenty eleven theme.

I don't get the slider and all the other stuff.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I want the theme to be like it shows in the demo and I can just plug in my own information and pages.

Hopefully I'm not confusing you lol

And yes, it's great to be able do it yourself. Time is an issue so I may go with him. But it would be nice to know for future reference.

Thanks Shaolinsteve for the recommendation! This may be who I go too. I see he has 20 orders in cue already though. I may be better off doing it myself this time since I need this fixed ASAP.

I have my site in maintence mode so it's a bummer for business.

    Hmmm,

You could always try this guy, I highly recommend him:

Om2000_cuet will solve your wordpress blogs css, html and other wordpress issues for $5, only on fiverr.com

He will do the work and you pay him after if he can resolve it. Very clever guy and nice to work with.

It is good to be able to fix it yourself though, isn´t it.. I always learn something when going via the Wordpress support forum for advice - This said, at 5$ its a great option for this guy to fix it, if time is an issue...

Personally I prefer to learn and so do it myself - although I do have a patience tolerance, LOL, and I may well use this guy in the future when it all wears thin for me.

I think in this case you would be well advised to try the services of the recommended WP guy above - Time is of the essence if this is an income site, and I will agree, sometimes the WP Support Forum is not the fastest.

    Ref post #3.

A new domain and a new install is NOT the solution for your issues...

Are you saying your site is still displaying the Twenty Eleven theme? If so, then that's a caching issue.

How do I go about getting my format to look like the reaction theme. I hope I don't have to delete everything and start over.
You should just need to configure the theme options to get it to look the way you want it.

I wonder if it's because I did not use a child theme with the Twenty Eleven and manually editted the orginal files. If thet's the reason do any of you know how to go about getting to that new themes format without loosing my pages and blog?
Huh? Using a child theme with Twenty Eleven would preserve your changes whenever the Twenty Eleven theme is updated, but that has nothing to do with using a new theme.

Im wondering if I should just get a new domain and hosting and start fresh and just transfer all content and stuff over to the new theme under a new domain. Then forward my old domain to the new one.
That's a sledgehammer approach and totally unnecessary.
