I have a few questions that are getting me pretty stuck at the moment.

First off so you guys understand what im trying to do. Here is a LINK to my site and an overview of what I want to achieve

So this is going to be a blog about self-help Im going to be updating it multiple times weekly.

I will also be reviewing self-help books and click bank products. With text and video. This is where I am going to try and make my money.

So here is the list of things I need to sort out. Any help is really appreciated even if its a link to a website with the info on it.
  • Place POSTS on PAGES
  • Have a STATIC POST on my front PAGE
  • Create a lightbox popup on my front page (only way I can do this is to link the lightbox to a certain PAGE. The front "home" page is not listed under PAGES
  • Creating a Amazon "shop" where people can buy the books I recomend
  • Linking Images to Amazon (tried this for the featured image and wordpress didnt accept the link?

I know its a lot but its really stopped me in my tracks.

    Why not ask Mark Ling, the developer of affillo theme.

    I'm sure you would get an answer there.

    I think this is more a general wordpress request, no matter what theme i'm using I would still get the same problems with posts and image links (I think )

    To add a new page, log into your wp back end, under admin -> pages select add new. You can name the menu item that will take users to the new page. If you want to make a post on that page you just need to add the content when editing that page.

    If you want to create a static front page, create a new page and Set the "Home" template to the default template or any custom template. Do not title your template home.php as this could cause a conflict. Add content you would like to see within the content area of the "Home" page. Publish the Page.

    After you create the static home page, you should be able to apply the lightbox to it.

    I’m not really sure what you are looking for in terms of an Amazon shop. There are tons of amazon plugins for Wordpress. Here is an example, Amazon Store - WordPress Plugin .

    Lastly if your images aren’t appearing with links, you can host them yourself.

    Yes, it is so 'general' we shouldn't even reply to it.

    Need a static frontpage? Read the manual and click on ALL the buttons and links in your WP admin backend. Until you don't know all the functions and features... it's completely useless to ask questions. Get familiar with the tool you are using.

    Just a few things to get you started:
    - learn about WP Pages
    - read about static frontpages...

    Focus on one thing at a time. For a novice that's too much what you asked...
