To measure any kind of progress you need 2 stages of a work to compare. One snapshot in time can not provide any information about 'progress'.

My 2 cents. The site was a bit slow to load for me. I like the colors, site is easy to navigate and read. But the header image and slogan I think need a little more work. I would use a different image for the header, the image you have to me is more for muscle building not weight loss.

Also, the slogan in the header claims that your site is the best. Unless you can absolutely without a doubt show that you are the best I would reword this because I think it may be a turn off for many people. Especially women who may visit the site. I would say something like, "Some of the best free tools, tips and advice on the web.

I would also scale down all the amazon adverts on your secondary pages, way too many. Maybe make some text ads too.

Other people's wills are as independent of mine as their breath and bodies.
We may exist for the sake of one another, but our will rules its own domain.

For the progress, well I can't actually tell since I haven't seen the "before" state of your site. However, moving on... IMHO, your header needs a serious work to be done, the font size on the article is a little to small for me. I'm assuming you'll be adding more articles soon so I think it will be nice to have tabs for your other articles somewhere.

First of all use some plugins to make your tags correct for W3C standards.

For example it would be better if you don't link your menu to be opened in a new windows.

Also don't forget to shape your structure and contents .

It takes too much to load. You must change your hosting account.

Then about the site: I think that it is too basic. I would hire a webdesigner or would use another template.

    Good luck!
