Is this a Job for WP Multi-Site?

I'm often using themes when I built websites for clients, and I find that they often have a very hard time looking at a theme and envisioning their site "over" that theme. I can do it -- but I guess that why I'm doing the building.

That being said, I'm going to buy a few themes and setup "demo" sites on my test server for some of the more popular themes that I use, and do a little customizing for the industries I work with. Hopefully this will help the clients "see" the site a littler better.

One approach I thought of was to create a WP site, and then simply clone it using BackupBuddy (which rocks) and then upload the themes to the cloned sites, etc.

Then it crossed my mind that WP Multisite may be a better tool for what I want to do. Is that the case? And while I'm VERY experienced with WP, I've never touched multi-site and I don't want learning multi-site to take more time theny simply popping out the 5-10 WP individual samples sites on my VPS.

Thanks!

If I where you i would just make your 1 demo site on a subdomain. Backup Buddy it then create your x amount of subdomains. Restore the site and change themes. Of course every customer is going to want to customize your demo site. Backup buddy the one they like and restore it on a demo sub domain and use that space to create the custom site till he/she is happy.
