how to get around php timeout with wp-ecommerce

When I try to add variations (26 by 4 by 5 by 4) I get a php time out message.
Hostgator says its the script and they can't increase the 30 seconds.
My customer is not ready for VPS. Wp-ecommerce is supposed to be optimized to handle much larger sites.
I'm looking for a work around. I don't really want to re-build the whole site off-line as it is just 4 product pages that will be the problem, but I looked through the database and I couldn't figure out where the product pages and variations are stored and what other table(s) I'd have to import to make them work.
