PSD design -> Wordpress template

What is the best/easiest way of getting a design made in Photoshop made into a Wordpress template?

I have a friend who's great at Photoshop but no knowledge in HTML/PHP/Wordpress.

I have basic knowledge in Wordpress, but never made any templates from scratch, only made simple modifications on templates I've downloaded.

Is there any program that will make this an easy task? Or any tutorial that can explain how its done with the basic knowledge I have.

Or is it such a difficult task that it's better just to outsource it?

    If there is little or no knowledge regarding html/php/wordpress coding, then it would be the most productive and easiest to let a "PSD to WordPress" service do this for you.

    It's typical to charge by the page. Home, blog, single post, etc...

    psd2html has a pretty good rep.
    It seems like they only do html, but they do WP as well.

    Its better if you outsource it as the css conversion would be the tough part to make the template work on all browsers and bring it inside wordpress , incase you are looking for a tool that can convert your psd to html alone you can try sitegrinder where in using that tool you name the layers and html is automatically generated by that tool.

    i would fairly suggest to hire someone on freelancer or here , and ask them to make you learn white creating a theme for you.

    that is best approach , i have done this earlier

    You've just one missing step. Psd to HTML. If you want to learn it, you can get much tutorial in internet. But it may take a lot of your time.

    For a simple, try to hire someone to do it

    I don't understand why this question is asked by someone or the other almost every week...

    If there existed any such application, all the developers and designs on the internet will vanish in thin air, which I doubt will never happen. A software cannot do what a human does, a human cannot do what a software does.

    PSD --> WORDPRESS = PSD to HTML/CSS and then HTML/CSS to WORDPRESS.

    You need to learn HTML and CSS first and then how to create a mockup from the psd file using markup. Once you have the mark up you can proceed creating the wp theme. And for that you need to get familiar with the wordpress template tags and you need to understand and learn some php.
