Using XHTML for Mind Mapping on Wordpress

Hi guys,
I am coming to you with cap in hand again, looking for help.

I am no good at this stuff so please keep it really simple if you are able to help me.

I have exported a mind map from Freemind as a clickable HTML file - the fiule extension is .xml.html and I want to put it on a page of my Wordpress site so that it displays as a clickable map.

Is there any easy way of doing this?

Thanks

  • Not likely in the way you are trying to do it... i.e. inside of a WP page.
    However, what you could try:
    - upload the file to your server (if WP doesn't let you do it, try via FTP)
    - remember/figure out the exact location - path
    - link to it in a WP Page or post

    • excellent Istvan
      thanks!
can I just upload the file as-is?
  • That didn't seem to work - just keep getting a 404 - any other ideas?

    • If you get a 404... it means your path to the uploaded file is not correct!
As for your second question: there must be a file AND a folder - upload both.

Usually, when I suggest a solution I either know it works or I tested it before replying. Just saying

  • There is this WordPress plugin for embedding the freemind mind maps

I want to point out that it only list being compatible to version 3.32 but this doesn't mean it will not work, you must test it. Worth a try.

    • Thanks David.. I tried that one before, but couldn't figure out if I needed to add the flash one as well, then I tried the shortcode and got nothing and searched online for help and all I found were loads of other people trying to figure it out and not getting any answers either..
