So every web developer out there marketing his or her own services knows that there are many free content management systems that can be used as a core to help build customer websites. Personally, every website I have built has been on wordpress with a substantial amount of custom coding done to the cms itself.

Tell me however, which is your favorite CMS and why? Why would you favorite one over the other?

Thanks for your feedback and opinions!

I haven't used a CMS in years, as I prefer to code everything by hand these days. But back when I did use them, I liked E107 the best, for its simplicity and ease of use. It has the most intuitive layout & functionality out of all the ones I've tried (including WordPress). And it's plenty powerful too.

http://get-simple.info/ Because it genuinely is the simplest cms and it's completely free - feels like the backend of a simpler version of WP. Other than that it has to be WP - despite it complexities and idiosyncrasies

I don't know about the others but Wordpress & Joomla. After some learning curve with Html & CSS, I've started learning how to use CMSs such as Joomla & Wordpress.

I'm not prefer Joomla because it is not suitable for me as a self learner. Furthermore, it has more complex coding requirement in order to accomplish something. Therefore, I leave Joomla and jump into Wordpress.

I prefer Wordpress as I'm comfortable with it and because:
    - It has simple not so complex template structures.
    - It is easy to scale by using plugins as many Wordpress plugin developers created.
    - Ease of use with many themes including Free and Paid.
    - Crowded communities, not just in Wordpress.Org itself but also other places that would solve most of major issue.
    - Backed by community developers to make sure to fight against security vulnerability.
    - And something more that I could not remember!

I prefer WordPress because it is really easy to use and manage.
Furthermore its functionalities are simplified. You can also incorporate
HTML coding and tweaking for your desired output.
WP can be customized if you are really fond of slicing and editing
for your own benefit. In addition, the WP is very widely use, so it would
be very easy to ask questions and answers if there are things you
find difficult to solve in WP.

    Have a great day

I have used WordPress and OpenCart for ecommerce websites. Actually, OpenCart is specifier for shopping online, however I prefer WordPress to OpenCart for big support community.

Where is Drupal in this poll? Doesn't anybody use Drupal?

If we were to cast things in black & white and split hairs, then Wordpress is merely a blogging platform. It would be hard to hold it in the ranks of a true CMS like Drupal. Which should obviously be on this list as well!

I totally agree BoiseMarketer. I have used all three for various purposes, but I usually use Drupal for large rich CMSs for churches and membership sites. I think that Jumla is not going to stand the test of time. And Woodpress is going to continue to rule as the leading blog tool. Just my opinion.

I don't like a lot cms, becouse they put a lot of things that you don't need it, and it's impossible to validate the website, but from all this list i like more Wordpress

This is a question which comes up too often. Why do you care what my favourite content management system is?

Every time you develop a website you should decide which content management system based on the requirements of the project. Wordpress may be suited to you if you require a large news website, or maybe you require something like Perch CMS if you want to restrict what content can be edited and even the project requires a bespoke content management system.

Generally I would avoid the majority listed in the poll apart from Wordpress since they are generally less secure, outdated and not the most search engine friendly. Wordpress is a fine solution for the majority of sites but again it should be determined per project basis.

I would say WordPress is my favorite CMS. I do have a blog on this platform and this is so user friendly. Apart from it I like Drupal as well but you didn't mention that here.
