pURL's - (personal URLs), need help

Hi, I've received letters from several UK marketers recently which use a cool trick I'd like to have on my site:

In the letter they give you a unique 5 digit hexidecimal code number. When you go to the website there's a box where you enter this code number and when you hit Enter it takes you to the main sales page which is then pre-populated with your name and address so it looks like a personal message to you.

The only thing I've found online is about pURL's but these use a personalised URL for each customer, not a code number which is what I'd rather use. Just wondered if anyone's done this sort of thing before and how you did it...

Any help to do this would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Raymer

    Hi Raymer,

I know you posted this quite a long time ago, but thought I would respond just incase your, or somebody else, was looking for a solution like this.

At Purlem we call this a "CURL" format. It stands for "Company URL," as the URL is created from the contact's company name.

In your case, your "Company" name for each contact could be the 5 digit hexidecimal code number. So the PURLs would be

    domain.com/XYZ12
    domain.com/AB123
    domain.com/TH532
    etc...

I think this is what you would be looking for...
