How to change Wordpress Header?

Hi Guys,

I usually outsource, however, I am setting up my first site.

I am unable to insert a new header to a Wordpress Thesis Simplo theme. I have no teckie experience.... so goof proof advice needed.

Also, how do you turn off the 'Social stuff' link on the site? I have seen this advice somewhere here, but cant find it... any help....

  • If you got to Appearance > Editor, you should see on the right hand side a list of files. There should be one named "Header.php". Just edit that file, but be sure to save the original in case you need it.

  • i think you need an experienced person to do this for you, but if what you want is to change header image, just go to appearance and click on header and from there you can change your header

  • Go to "editor" under appearance. At the very bottom you should see a "style.css" folder. Open it and find "#header". You'll see a background image with a URL. Just replace that URL with the picture you want to use. That should do the trick.
