WP -- Have I entered The Matrix??...

I'm just getting started on my WP "journey."

But I'm sure this can't be right...

When I click on the "text" tab (when editing a page), I SHOULD see the html, riiiiight??

Welp, THIS is what I see -- pages of THIS...

This ain't no html I've ever seen...

[jibberish was here]

    Could you provide me a link to the page so I can see myself? I've done lots of work in WP, perhaps I could suggest a fix.

    It's because your using a basecode64 image.
    Nothing wrong with that under certain circumstances.

    It's the California and Indiana png image.
    Not sure why you'd have that as basecode64 by itself.
    You may consider just using a standard png depending on the size.
    Basecode64 is much larger.

    You might consider optimizing the page, it's really large.

    P.S. - This is often done to reduce http requests...but the images are much larger. Basically it's the raw image code.

      Yes -- Thanks! I figured it out.
      I was adding some images in an unusual way (not via media library) THAT's what was producing the jibberish -- and the editor page not working well. It was just too overloaded with the code ("jibberish") for those incorrectly added images!

      Anyhow, I am rebuilding the page and adding the images the right way!!
