I have a new client that has an ecommerce site with another web host that is built on some kind of custom CMS.

Now, is it possible to transfer the custom CMS to our hosting provider we use?

I called the company and they said something about the CMS being hosted on Adobe servers or something, does anyone have experience in this area?

Any help is super appreciated!

  • Hi ya..

In such a case I would suggest you to contact your destination host where you wish to transfer the website. As they can assist you in a better way in this regards.
Moreover as per the company to which you have contacted you should be clear that there must not be any compatibility issues with the hosting server.Means check the requirements which are needed for your domain to be hosted properly on your end.

    I hope this helps.

It turns out the site is built on a proprietary CMS by Adobe, Business Catalyst.

From what I understand, this means I would need to re-code the HTML into Wordpress or a similar open source CMS to use on our hosting, since I cannot use the existing CMS. Is this correct?

It would seem that your choice, if you want to keep the customer, is to become an Adobe Partner or rewrite the code of the site starting from scratch.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

    1. Don't start two threads about the same. It gets deleted.
    2. You can't post here requests for paid jobs. Go to the Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You subforum.
    3. Why don't you read about the platform of your client? > web hosting platform | Adobe Business Catalyst
    4. Based on your posts you don't seem to have the skills & knowledge to even think about messing with the client's website. Why not just be honest and confess this is above your head...?
