Downloadable Audio Files Help

by RogerzWorld 4 replies
I just got off of a live chat with HostGator and I was told this was a web design coding issue.
Here's what I want.....I have 5 audio files that I'd like use as my free front end offer. Then after opting in, a link to the mp3 files are sent via my auto responder
to my new subscriber.
I've seen this done and I'm sure with some help I can get this done.

Thanks

    1. Upload the audio files to your server into a folder called 'audio'
    2. Place links in autoresponder message like follows: http://yourdomain.com/audio/filename.mp3

You can use a FTP program to upload the files or the file manager within Hostgator.

I do not get the point here.

What do you want to achieve?

The mp3 should be downloaded or just played?

How can you expect us to know what you want?

Google for force download... php snippets could help.

I thought it was pretty clear what I needed help with....
I need to create a download link for my mp3 files. I think I have gotten the solution from Buzilla's reply in the thread...

Why is it when you post requests for help, you have such negative feedback from members here? I thought that was the point of a forum.

If I had all the answers and that includes even how to properly frame the question then I wouldn't bother posting a request for help...

      Thanks

    I think the first line
"I just got off of a live chat with HostGator and I was told this was a web design coding issue. "
From reading that I was also thinking what do you want to do with your mp3 coding wise? Sometimes giving a sample link to another site will help as well. Michael71 was trying to be helpful but I think the misunderstanding is from different level of technical knowledge. No ones at fault.

I joined recently, I think this is a very helpful forum.
