Have a problem with Wordpress Permalinks

Hi guys.

I'm still trying to do a gallery for my wordpress site. This time I'm thinking about making a Gallery page, then linking to another page for each bundle of images.

I want it to show as /gallery/ but the permalink keeps showing up as gallery-3 (or gallery-4 after I deleted the page.)


Any idea how to fix this? I'm starting to get frustrated with this project.

    There must be pages in "trash" with name "gallery" delete all of them, and then delete the one you have active, then make a new one.

    If it still gives gallery-1, then there must be a post or category with the same name "gallery"

    Now that I got my gallery page set up, I want my urls to go site-doman/gallery/item/ how do I set this up?
