Need Advice- Client's Admin Access Blocked by Bot Attack?

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question or if it belongs in programming but I'm stumped of what to do. I have a client that came to me looking a few days ago for a Wordpress redesign of their site. Unfortunately, I discovered they were one of the thousands of people who hosted their sites with InMotion Hosting that were victims of a bot attack months ago.

They've been locked out of their WP site somehow and for some reason he thinks a re-design will make this problem go away... He completely confused by the situation.

After reading about it, going through multiple Inmotion tech support and customer service reps I'm now stumped and the Inmotion still seems a bit stumped too as for the best thing to do now with these sites. Google is blocking access also when you try to click on his URL in the search results and displays a malware warning message.

In my mind starting over from fresh would be the next step since no one can even login to his WP admin panel to make changes he wants to his design. First time I've dealt with this kind of thing for a client and trying to recover access after a site attack- it's a bit out of my realm honestly.

I'd at least like to advise him the best course of action if I'm unable to do a site redesign and a refund if there's no solution or if he needs to find another hosting company. Any thoughts?

Well, it seems I answered my own question then. Short of finding a new webhost I'm not sure.

Ask a backup from the old host (both files AND database) and move the whole thing to a normal host. That's what I'd do if it was my client. If not willing to move (I had such cases...) I fire the client.

Most likely the site(s) have been compromised. They could be sending emails from a cracked theme or plugin or simply have a link somewhere in the site that's been known to Google to be malicious. When you see the error message from Google, you should be able to view the details. Those details will tell you exactly what the problem is...

      Thanks for the added advice.

Google only gives suggestions on their "Visiting this web site may harm your computer!" message page: Go back to return to searches and Try a different search... No details about the exact problem just leading all web visitors back to Google's search results.

Think it's time to move their content to a new hosting company, rebuild it with his chosen Wordpress theme and shut down the hijacked one if he's willing.

I'm getting to the point where it's becoming a job that isn't worth it; can't even login to his Wordpress dashboard to make changes to his theme he want's.

If any Warrior's can figure this out I'll pay $20 for their assistance. I'm going to post in the Warrior's for hire section also but wanted people here to know also. Just want to get this done at this point in the easiest way possible since it's been a couple days of frustrating of trying to figure out login issues with his account.
