Hi Friends,

I'm struggling with "Selecting" a Word Press theme...and wanted to know "what is the most flexible Word Press theme?

I found the following
  • U-Design (themeforrest)
  • Canvass (woo-themes)
  • Studiopress (genesis)
  • Thesis (DYI)
I'm fairly new to wordpress but have done a few themes from Themeforrest, custom Child Theme, etc. I'm not a beginner BUT have only put up a few sites.

I would like to be able to do a numerous sites without "re-learning the wheel."

Which in your opinion would be Best?

I like the U-Design Theme...but not sure if this is best for my needs. Also, Studio and thesis---seem like a steep learning curve.

What's your Opinion?

thanks !

You need 2 or 3 thems, because are 3 or 4 major category of website: business, news magazine, personal website, shop.

Try Avada! For business or personal website.

The WordPress.org hosted and developed themes as is or a child theme based on them are in my opinion the best basis for developing a website for any niche. Installation of a custom header image is simple and will set your site apart from the crowd.

        twentyten

        twentyeleven

        twentytwelve

        twentythirteen

and you can't beat the price and the support is better than most paid support options.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

          thanks Robin,

Problem with started from scratch is you have to load images, make layout changes, a lot of work. I've worked with child themes before.

I'm looking for a Theme that i can work with on constant basis...and that is flex-able.

Actually, you are not looking for a "flexible" theme... you are looking for the 'lazy-man's-easy-theme'

Flexible means that I can modify the layout, the general feel and look, the features etc. - IF I know WP.

The other thing that you are looking for is not "a lot of work" and no "steep learning curve" (quote from your posts!)

Flexible is not the same as easy.

I have used and liked Thesis in the past. There was a bit of a learning curve on the old versions, but 2.1 looks a lot easier. I plan on testing out 2.1 this weekend.

I use Canvas from woothemes on multiple websites. I love it. I can't compare it to the others you have listed, though.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

There are many good themes that you can use... For example Canvas theme from Woothemes is good enough to be used and modified the way you want. Also Twentyten, Twentyeleven, Twentytwelve, Twentythirteen are a good starting point.
You can also try Suffusion or try to make your own theme that you can modify based on your clients needs.
