Website name: College Connects ( or College Connects us??, that is why the domain is .us, seemed to settle on just College Connects though )

niche: College students and alumni

Software: IP Board

What do you guys think of the design and layout? I want something friendly yet professional. I recently removed a lot of stuff because it was slowing the site down severely.

    Overall I think it’s a really good site. The only suggestion I would have is to make your signup buttons more apparent. Perhaps making them larger and a different color. They are easy to miss with all the other stuff going on.

    Very nice and clean. Easy to navigate. I like the photos next to the sub-forum topics. Just a thought though, the logo doesn't really relate to your audience. Perhaps put a cap or something that relates to college/school in your logo. Everything else is spot on.

    I would say your site is looking professional and I really appreciate your work. You should optimize your images so it would load faster. But everything else is looking perfect for me.

    I would suggest you to add some juicy logos (can be bought from stock photography sites) or, add a few nice photos. Design should be suggestive, I think.

    Otherwise, it's a well-put together professional site

      The gzip should be doing it but it does not seem to catch everything, i recently just switched to php 5.4 which helped with speed but it is stil lslow

    Hi kogama,

    Whole site looks clean and professional, but what just jumped to my eyes was that font size is too small when I want to read it I need to get close to my screen which is bit annoying.. Also Id do the sign up button more visible as was already mentioned, and maybe use some nice hover effects for social icons (check out this site: CSS3 Rollover Social Media Icons | Brad S. Knutson)
