Have my Wordpress Installations Been Hacked?

Dear Warriors,

I thought this would be the best place to post this as I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

I have just tried to automatically update some plugins inside my Wordpress admin and I keep getting this message;

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file /home/greg8281/tmp/1242876034 because Permission denied in /home/MyUsername/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 174

Warning: fileowner() [function.fileowner]: stat failed for /home/greg8281/tmp/1242876034 in /home/MyUsername/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 628

Warning: unlink(/home/greg8281/tmp/1242876034) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in /home/MyUsername/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 630

I'm a little concerned due to the greg8281 part not being a username that I am associated with or familiar with.

The strange thing is it is happening on ALL my Wordpress installations - despite being on various different domains.....

I was able to update plugins earlier today - so why is this happening now?

Any suggestions?

    Hmm. Those kinds of errors are usually just because of file permissions, but if you don't recognise that username that's a little odd.

    So, is it that you aren't Greg, or is it that you don't recognise that particular string 'greg8281' ?

      Hi Kezz - thanks for reply.

      I'm not greg at all - that's why I'm so concerned. Plus - I have never had a problem with upgrading plugins etc before, and it seems strange that it is ALL my installations coming up with the exact same error message.

      I've checked the source of my pages and can't see anything unusual, and everything else is working just fine.

    no, I got this the other day when I was changing around some code. Run a xhtml validation on it to see if you need to fix something.
