I set myself a simple website building challenge:
  • I had to use free tools
  • to use HTML rather than CSS
  • It had to be different to what I had seen

I would welcome any feedback?
Have a stumbled across something new or am I just reinventing an old wheel.

The website forces horizontal scrollbars on most common destktop resolutions. You should seek to avoid fixed width layouts that do not collapse based on viewport size.

Thanks clickbump, the website should be more responsive now.

well good job with your embedded player but try to synchronise the things according to their size and width.

Cool what you were able to do. Brought a smile to my face. But might be a hard-sell to clients, who typically will want something a little more standard, even if they say they want something unique.

Hi Colin1M, This looks great but you need to keep in mind that using Flash for your animations won't work on mobile devices like iPads or smart phones (both iPhone and Androids dont support it). Consider using HTML5 and Jquery that gets the job done just as good (if not better in a lot of cases)

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

I have taken on board as much feedback as I can.

Please see my latest page at Great Website Design | Done For Free

I have introduced some new graphics features and completely redesigned the site.

Any further feedback would be most welcome?

You can do all of those animations using CSS and jQuery and be 1000s of times smoother and quicker to download.

Flash is deprecating technology. Check out HTML5.

If you look at the source code you can see that all the animation on the page is making for a huge amount of code, with very little of what search engines would consider content - something to consider.
